What are the age restrictions for residents of Barefoot Bay?

Just how big is Barefoot Bay?
There are approximately 5,000 homes. The average home site is about 50 by 80 feet.
How much space is there between homes?
Nearly all of the homes are 24 feet wide, some even a few feet wider. And this doesn’t include the porch and carport. Lengths vary. Generally, owners must maintain a minimum setback from their lot line of 7.5 feet in the back and on both sides of the home and 10 feet in the front.
Is that big enough for a garage and a pool? Are there any larger lots available?
Some lots are a bit larger and it may be possible to have a garage and/or pool if the size and placement of the home are carefully planned. Several owners opted to purchase two side by side lots and, as long as the home itself occupies part of each lot, only a single homeowner’s fee is assessed.
Are pets allowed?
Two pets, dogs or cats in any combination, per household are welcomed. And no, there is no size restriction. And yes, fences, chain link and no taller than 4 feet, are fine. Owners are expected to pick up after their dogs and have them on a leash.
How much are the Association fees and what do they cover?
Barefoot Bay’s monthly fee is $57 and includes use of 3 pools, community bar and deli, a billiards room, horseshoes, tennis, exercise course around the lake, and reduced fees at the community’s golf course. But wait, there’s more! A huge Community Center hosts a variety of activities. Live bands and DJ’s are performing nearly every weekend. A long gated pier over the Indian River directly across the street from Barefoot Bay’s entrance is for the exclusive use of community residents. And a private parking area at a secluded beach area is also available.
How strict is the Homeowner’s Association about yard and home maintenance?
Lawns are expected to be mowed regularly. Driveways and carports should be used for vehicles, golf carts, grills, and porch furniture; general storage items such as boxes should be kept in the storage area or inside the home. Pressure washing homes once or twice yearly will control unsightly mildew/mold stains and remove the inevitable layer of dirt that will collect on the siding over time. There are regulations regarding the size of an antenna allowed on a home site. Gaudy exterior colors and designs, oversized lawn ornaments and other unusual visual eyesores should be avoided. Generally common sense about what an attractive neighborhood, and what you’d like your neighbors’ property to look like, will keep owners well inside the community guidelines.
Are there restrictions on the kinds of vehicles allowed in the community?
Commercial vehicles and any vehicles, including motor homes, trailers and boats over 25 feet long can be parked in the community for only 48 hours and only after notifying the Association. Vehicles may park only on pavement or concrete. Any repairs on vehicles in the community must be completed within 8 hours.
OK. All this seems quite reasonable. Anything else?
No outdoor clotheslines and no motorized craft in the community’s lakes or canals.
